Dear pastors and leaders in the white American Evangelical church who continue to support a convicted felon found guilty of sexual assault.

Please stop with this Cyrus / King David nonsense. You are leading your sheep astray, and God does not take this lightly.

History reports that Cyrus the Great was a leader of high moral and ethical values, not inclined to cruelty. [1] And Scripture tells us that King David had an appropriate fear of God, repenting for his sins and begging God not to let his transgressions rule his heart. [2] Also, we are in the New Covenant, where God has warned us over and over that He does not partner with a bullying spirit. His hand is not on the thief, the rapist, the con-artist, the racist, the name-caller or the pretender. See the Scriptural evidence of this below.

"Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.  But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth." Colossians 3:5-8

Donald Trump is unrepentant. He has not apologized to E. Jean Carroll, or the 28 other women who have testified to his physical and sexual abuse. He has not apologized to the political opponents that he called, "human scum," "pencil neck," "fat," "pig," or to the communities of color he referred to as "lazy," "disgusting," and "rodent-infested." He has not apologized to the state of New York or to the people he scammed with his "Trump University," for the fraudulent business practices that earned him 34 felonies, and a "D-" rating from the Better Business Bureau, nor has he apologized to the charities he stole from. Therefore, he is disqualified from any type of leadership, and we are instructed not to take fellowship with him.

"Remove the wicked man from among yourselves." 1 Corinthians 5:13

You have refused to heed Jude's warning:

"For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord." Jude 4

And allowed yourselves to be flattered by a predator.

"These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage. . . These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit." Jude 16,19

By doing this, you have invited God's wrath. Your partnership with a pretender for political power is against the will of God, and it is leading his sheep astray.

"For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them." Ephesians 5:5-7

I urge you to back away from Donald Trump, because God's judgment is about to come down, and His judgment will be swift.

“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 23:1

Woe to the shepherds who protect the bully instead of the bullied!

"A good person who gives in to a bad person is a muddied spring, a polluted well." Proverbs 25:26

I urge you to repent. Make haste!

Sincerely,

Amy Hawk, Author
